I. General
Protecting the confidentiality of personally identifiable information of our donors collected through our website or other means has been, and will continue to be, a top priority of United way of Southeast Louisiana. This document has been created to help create an understanding of the different ways that United Way of Southeast Louisiana will use personally identifiable information. For brevity. United Way of Southeast Louisiana will be referred to as UWSELA throughout this document.
II. Donor Information Collection and Use
a. UWSELA gathers identifiable data (addresses, zip codes, email addresses) when voluntarily submitted by a Donor or their company
b. UWSELA will not disclose, sell, share, trade, or rent any personally identifiable data collected on their website or any other collection method.
c. UWSELA may use your information for other internal purposes, including communications to make the donor aware of how donations are being spent, events, newsletters, and other general information related to United Way of Southeast Louisiana
d. UWSELA may share personally identifiable data with its affiliate agencies with the donors written permission.
e. UWSELA will release personally identifiable data about a donor, if necessary, in order to comply with valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, or court order.
f. UWSELA reserves the right to use all information, including personally identifiable data, at its disposal and to share information with internet services providers and other third parties as necessary to investigate any incident of misuse or abuse of its site, server or information systems.
g. Sites that Link from UWSELA’s site including partner’s sites maintain their own privacy policies. UWSELA is not responsible for the privacy policies of other agencies.
h. UWSELA collects the number and frequency of visitors to its site and its areas. This is used only as an aggregate; no direct personal information is collected.
III. Children
a. UWSELA does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information from Donors who are under the age of thirteen (13). If we become aware that a Donor is under the age of 13 and has donated using our Site, we will remove that child’s personal information from our files.
IV. Opt Out
a. Donors can opt-out of having personally identifiable data used for communication purposes. This can be requested using one of UWSELA’s forms or by emailing info@unitedwaysela.org
V. Credit Card Information
a. UWSELA reviews its procedures and systems for compliance with federal regulations and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS)
b. Precautions are taken to secure donor data. Tools used are High grade encryption using the https security protocol, and secure socket layer to communicate with modern browser software.
c. UWSELA Protects user-information off-line. Only authorized employees are granted access to personally identifiable data. All facilities and servers that store personally identifiable data are kept in a secure environment and maintained with high security standards.
VI. Changes to Privacy Policy
a. All changes will be prominently posted so that a donor will know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone
