August 2016 - United Way of Southeast Louisiana’s St. Tammany Regional Office, in partnership with St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 1, St. Tammany Parish Government and Slidell Police Department held their Twelfth Annual East St. Tammany Red Beans N Rice Cook-Off on Monday, August 1st at the Slidell City Auditorium.

Also a special thank you to our Guest Emcee – Ashley Rodrigue with WWL TV, Northshore Bureau Chief and our Honorary Chair, Dr. Charles Preston, St. Tammany Parish Coroner and Co-Chairs – Chris Kaufmann, Fire Chief St. Tammany Fire District #1 and Gene Bellisario, St. Tammany Parish Councilman.
We're pleased to announce that we were able to raise $16,441 on Monday which brings our grand total to $25,083 for the East St. Tammany and West St. Tammany Red Beans N Rice Cook-Offs this year. The money raised will directly benefit St. Tammany suicide prevention and crises response efforts along with early learning initiatives.
