Building a Brighter Financial Future in New Orleans East

With an airport, industrial canal, and wildlife preserve, New Orleans East is a vibrant community brimming with opportunities and strengths. United Way of Southeast Louisiana is proud to contribute to the area's assets by opening the New Orleans East Prosperity Center, a resource designed to empower residents on their financial journeys.

This one-stop center offers comprehensive services to foster financial stability and wealth-building opportunities. Unlike predatory financial services, our free programs help individuals and families build lasting economic stability. We focus on empowering participants through education and personalized support and classify the space as a judgment-free zone. Whether you want to gain budgeting skills, improve your credit score, or explore career development options, the New Orleans East Prosperity Center has something for everyone.

Financial Empowerment for All

The center supports low- to moderate-income families, including those living under the ALICE Threshold (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). ALICE households earn above the poverty line but struggle to afford necessities. The recent ALICE in the Crosscurrents: An Update on Financial Hardship in Louisiana identified 34,183 households living in poverty and 47,799 ALICE households in Orleans Parish in 2022. Our free services remove financial barriers and ensure everyone in the community has access to the resources they need to thrive. Learn more at UnitedWaySELA.org/ALICE.
